The Last Great Race in the Last Great Place
Did you know it's time for the Iditarod? The ceremonial start is on Saturday in Anchorage.
To follow the race yourself, you have a few choices:
ADN
ADN is covering the Iditarod as usual, including a story about what the mushers themselves eat. I tell you, if a marathon can be considered a progressive water stop, and an Ironman can be considered a walking buffet, the Iditarod should be considered a high-speed gourmet!
Iditarod.com
Iditarod.com will have results everyday available. The pictures are really spectacular as well!
Iditarod Insider
The Iditarod organizers have also put together a flashy new website called IditarodInsider.com. For a 20.00 fee (for a year), you can have the best view of the race without getting on a dogsled yourself. It looks like it will be a pretty awesome website, and might just be worth the money.
Cabelas
Cabelas has their own Iditarod website. From what I remember, they had some really good coverage last year, so it might be worthwhile to check out.
Swiss Iditarod Team
If you speak German, the Swiss Iditarod Team has coverage for you.
Seavey Family Journal
Mitch and Danny Seavey are running this year. They have a journal here.
Ultimate Iditarod
There's also this Ultimate Iditarod website.
Anyways, it's cold and should be a great race. Please check it out!
